Center forward with good speed and skills, wanted by Arsenal a few years ago, was considered one of the greatest hopes. I honestly think he's worth 9 million. Has just turned 24 now in January. So by the age of 23, he had scored 26 times in 96 matches in Russia for Rubin Kazan in the last 3 seasons, none of them penalties. Even if the Russian league is not the Premier League, I'm pretty sure he could have scored 26 in 150 matches in the PL. He also has 5 goals in 14 matches in the Champions League for them against Anderlecht, Ajax, Atletico Madrid or Bayern Munich. For the national team, he has performed amaingly, but given that football in Asia is very different, I will take into consideration only his performaces against good teams from Europe or South America. He has 8 goals in 11 matches in the last 2 years, his country having played Venezuela, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Turkey, Algeria, Russia, Montenegro, Macedonia, South Korea and Japan.
He also provided A LOT of assists for a center forward and played in a team which hardly ever scores (Rubin Kazan), so in a more offensive team should do better. Edited by mattteo (30 Jan 2019 11.40pm)

As someone who is half Iranian I can chip in on this one. Azmoun is a great prospect. Dubbed the ‘Iranian Messi’ (which would be funny as we apparently have the German Messi) is a similar player to Wickham or Benteke as in a target man but knows where the goal is. In my opinion, Jahanbaksh is the best Iranian player but Azmoun is arguably next best. Has Champion’s League experience but maybe a gamble. In saying that, he’s young with a lot of potential. I think looking at Asian players maybe the right way forwards. There are some gems there and at a much lower cost than European, South American or even African players.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sardar Azmoun (Suggestion)' by bexleydave Iranian striker playing for Zenit. 14 goals in 17 games last season. Has Champions League experience and only 24. Liverpool are looking at him but he’s not sure of going there as he wouldn’t get game time. He would here if he plays well. Thoughts?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sardar Azmoun (Suggestion)' by bexleydave Is good, but was more affordable last winter when Zenit paid 12 million for him. Now he'd cost a lot more. I made some threads about him back then, they're still here somewhere.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sardar Azmoun (Suggestion)' by bexleydave Apparently, club put in a 30 million bid for him. Yeah, don't listen to me, what do I know? Surely it would not have been better to buy him for 12 million 7 months ago than pay 30 million now. Lots of money saved ))

Think we also had the Hungarian Wayne Rooney sometime back, lol.
