Officially retired this evening. Had a fine career and walks away at the relatively young age of 30 with both his health and bank balance in good shape. Met him on he circuit, and you couldn't come across a nicer guy. Be interesting to see if he can stay retired. Best of luck to him.

Those two Froch fights alone must have made him a millionaire several times over. This is by far the best time ever to have been a successful boxer in the UK......Better fighters have retired in the past with pennies compared to Groves. Good luck to him....but I think he'll be back. Interesting that he didn't thank Adam Booth in his farewell message. Edited by Stirlingsays (29 Jan 2019 8.44pm)

Hope he enjoys his retirement. I said it at the time that the Froch fights came to early for him... he was never the same after that knockout in the second fight.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

My best memory of him was allowing Froch to hit him flush on the chin in the 8th of their second fight. Had a oner on him at 18s. Thanks George.
