How are players allowed to practically stop and then take their kick in hope of seeing a movement from the keeper, isn't it cheating? ..I'm sure a rule came out to stop it or am I being silly. Chelsea did it again tonight against Sheff Wed for the first goal!

I think you're right, I always thought it had to be an unbroken run and just wasn't enforced, a bit like how foul throws or uncontested drop balls are just a part of the game these days.

Forgot I suppose with something like foul throws you don't gain any advantage from it so no one seems to care Then there's Keepers coming off their lines, they don't seem strict on that either, or players running into the box before the spot kick is taken?

Goalkeepers who stray a step outside the box with the ball still in their hands when kicking up field too. I yell HANDBALL every time at Selhurst and get looked at by other Palace fans like I'm on day release.

Along with Gareth Southgate's Euro 96 penalty please. He should have checked his run and returned to the centre circle.

Pogba took 26 steps before he slotted home from the spot against Everton a couple of months ago.I saw that he used far fewer steps whilst taking a later penalty. Le Tissier of course was the penalty taking king and he only ever missed 1 penalty - Out of 48- and that was saved by Mark Crossley of Nottm Forest.I answered this question in a football quiz many moons ago !
