Surprised there's not a thread on this already - apols if I have missed it.

So Dortmund have some cash burning a hole in their pocket. If he wants to go I wouldn't blame him going for Champions League football - and abroad so I'd be able to support him in his future efforts. This said, I'd rather him stay because without him we lack any game changers.

Lukaku and Morata were bought for around the £75 million mark. Dortmund are offering £44 million if thats not a joke I don’t know what is .

Looking at this without emotion, which is hard but I feel a dose of realism is required...

Although Morata is now officially set for the glue factory, he has a half decent goals per season return. Lukaku similarly, before he moved to United. Zaha has neither. Maybe top three in the highest dribbles chart, and that does not get you 75m.

I’d take anything above 50m. I think that’s a massive offer for a player with average to poor goal return and an average assist ratio, in comparison with some of the other players available at that price range

Sell, sick of all the arm flapping etc. Also, he's become too easy an excuse for the others to use to hide their own shortcomings "if Wilf doesn't play we don't win" etc. Also, I think he's ruined it for himself with his public 'attack' on the refs (he was right, but they're never going to give him anything now)

He's the best we've ever had, but as the song goes, he's just too good for us. Sell now, he can go on and have a stella career and we can invest the money.

If he's over the home sickness thing, Dortmund would be an excellent fit for him.

Clubs often go down when they sell their best players.

I don't see Wilf being sold in this window.

Neither do I - article suggests summer offer.

The trouble is, I expect we would waste the money.

Totally agree, we'd probably spend most of it on another 3 goals a season target man

Even more to the point, there are only about 6 players in the world who can do what he does on a pitch and £50m wouldn’t buy any of them, so at that price he would be a bargain. Put him in the current Man City side and he would tear teams apart.

But even if he doesn’t score enough he’s making most of our better chances. I don’t think we can replace him effectively or efficiently.

Wherever Wilf goes it'll be with my blessing.

He's more than done his apprenticeship for a continually struggling side and has his prime years ahead of him.

I want to see him truly fulfill his potential.
