Is it wrong that I actually hope Brighton beat the Scousers, nothing better than watching Liverpool winning the league in December and ending up with nothing.

I'm wanting a goalless draw with both teams recieving lots of red cards and long term injuries.

No, anything is preferably to that mob winning the league.

It'll be special edition dvds and media fawning forever more. Gerrard will be re-signed as a player just to left the cup. Netflix will be ruined by endless "29 years of hurt" documentaries. There will be special dedications and 10-minute silences before every match in tribute to the 96 and Redknapp, Souness and Carragher will spontaneously jizz all over the sky studio. 'Scouse not English' will finally be recognised as an official ethnic group.

I'll even take the almost insufferable fergie years at United all over again, anything but Liverpool winning it.

I was preparing to express my ambivelance, but this particular paragraph has convinced me otherwise. Particularly the bit about the jizzing (even though I don’t watch Sky). “Up the Seagulls!”

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

A (slightly less intense) summary of exactly my feelings

Hope the Scousers give them a right good thrashing like they did last season. Just remember if we beat Watford and Liverpool do the business then we will only be 1 point behind Brighton with a better goal difference.

This is a faultless, logical and reasoned post but then I close my eyes and feel the cold dread of a never ending media bum fest over a Liverpool title win, the headlines alone: Klopp of the Kop...

This cannot be allowed to happen.

The scousers can beat them and still not win the league. Not a problem.

Yes very wrong! No Palace fan should want the scummy weeds to win anything ever, its just wrong....Scousers should give the weeds a thrashing, even if they do they can still lose the title!

Weed to get spanked by Liverpool, who will go on to feck up their chances in the league anyway.

Brighton are not going to be relegated this season but a couple of big losses would see them getting nervous and it would be lovely to finish above them again.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
