It's astonishing for me that he's just 26. If we would have talked about him over a coffee, I'd have said he's old as f**k. And slow.

I still maintain the part about him being slow. He has been playing in a small but boheme team in Switzerland lately (Sion) after haveing left big leagues football. I remember him from his Premier League time at Fulham.

Then he went to Nottingham and Olympiakos. He was slow there too but bagged in some goals for club and national team. He can play as attacking midfielder or in a more withdrawn position as central midfielder (Cabaye role). But he really would be a liability when defending.

Now I've seen that in the last year, in his country, he has been played mostly as right wing (he's left footed, cuts inside being a technical player) with some success.

I believe they scored a second stonker in that match too.

You don't have to be lightening fast to play in midfield.

Frank Lampard being a prime example.

He timed his runs from midfield and scored a bucket load of goals.
