Ridiculous. Got to the semi-finals of a world cup because he got a fortunate draw, a lot of the teams that usually do well didn't turn up, and he scraped through a penalty shootout after a game he should have won. A considerable improvement on the toilet that England usually produce on these occasions but if you want "services to football" I give you Hodgson who despite being utter garbage at two international finals has done more for the English game as a whole than Southgate has dreamt of.

And what do you now award Southgate if he ever actually does win something?

I think Kane's captaincy and all round professionalism was exemplary compared to the petulance showed by others representing England ie Rooney and Beckham and South gate's manner and professionalism was also refreshing compared to the buffoonary showed by many of his predecessors
