That was the match that got me into football and palace . My dad went and I watched it on tv and was instantly hooked. My dad took me to both cup finals. Have despised Man Utd ever since. I’d say in my day it was the hopkin goal because of why happened the season before. Such a magical deserved moment Us signing Lombardo was the best transfer speculation that turned true ever. No different from us signing David Silva in a couple years time.

Great thread. There have been so many over the years, my life supporting Palace has run in tandem to my personal life with various ups and downs, false starts, disappointments and the odd success. All the normal big Palace games spring to mind, many of which have already been mentioned. Guess I would add Blackburn in the playoffs as well as coming back to draw 3 each with the bin dippers. For me it's all about the friends and family. Going along as a young lad with my Grandad. I remember the first game I took my own son to which was of the proudest moments of my life. I remember my first game after the death of my grandad. Funny the things that stick in your mind. There have been as many downs as there have ups but isn't that life, it's certainly been entertaining. Sorry about the ramble, it's Christmas and I'm feeling emotional.

‘Moment’ is the first equaliser at Villa Park in 1990. I have never gone so ‘potty’ before or since. Close 2nd and 3rd: The winner in the above game. Dave Swindlehurst scoring at Elland Road, 1976. I was lucky enough to be there, age 16. All FA Cup ‘moments’.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

Sorry to burst the bubble Ah, ok, maybe it was 11199 locked outside then? Great nite anway, remember walking up over the bridge at pawsons road towards croydon and the road behind was rammed as far as you could see, be nice to get that crowd back if we build a big enough stadium, if it ever gets off the ground!

I have been at many of our high points from the Burnley champions game but one that I remember fondly is the cup game against Wolves 3. - 1 to Palace with the perfect hatrick from Danny B. I think they had a young Hennessey in goal but might be wrong. Great celebrations for the goals.
