Don't mention new Man U boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer to Dougie Freedman!

Palace's sporting director played in a Nottingham Forest side that was once thrashed 8-1 at home to Man U.

As sub, Ole only played the last 18 minutes but managed to score four goals.

After the match home side boss Ron Atkinson (with whom Dougie never saw eye to eye)outraged the Forest fans by describing the match as "a nine-goal thriller"!

I think this comprehensive defeat was not that long after Atkinson took up the reins at Nottm Forest.I have a feeling that Dave Beasant was in goal for Nottm Forest but I could be wrong.

Apropos Solskjaer I remember him as a player who always seemed to hit the target but was also impressive about him was his crossing from the right side.In terms of management, Zaha played under him at Cardiff.

willo,
did ole not do poorly as Cardiff boss?

seem to remember it not going well, if I'm correct.
Hopeully he'll really stink it up at Salford
.
Wonder what odds you'd get on that lot being relegated

I believe Cardiff only won 5 out of 25 games under him and they were relegated from the PL when he was in charge but he only took over halfway through that season. He was sacked after 7 games in the Championship.

Evidently some of the Norwegian players he signed never made a positive impact - sounds familiar ??
A couple of players he signed are still there playing in the PL, Morrison and Manga.

Didn’t Frazier Campbell play alongside Wilf during Ole’s spell at Cardiff?

Fraizer Campbell was at Cardiff at the same time as Zaha.As was Jordan Mutch and Mark Hudson.
