Pretty self explanatory.

Zaha suspended and the two of them are clearly incapable of playing up front and meaningfully contributing on their own for a sustained spell of 90 minutes.

Play 4-3-1-2 with Townsend behind the pair of them and Milo, MAC and Kouyate in their preferred central positions (as opposed to playing J Mac and Meyer on the wings).

Meyer can then come on behind the strikers if needed and, if all else fails, Townsend can move up top to replace one of Sorltoh or Ayew.

I don’t believe the two of them have played together yet and Townsend is our only fit winger so can’t play with any width anyhow.
The West Ham game underlined that we struggle with eye of the needle passes in and around the box, so potentially a more direct approach with runners coming from midfield may provide some surprising results ....

I'm surprised you haven't already been torn to shreds for even suggesting Ayew might be a solution! Or Sorloth come to that.

Personally I'm not so sure thay Ayew is as bad as some make out. And, I am still not going to dismiss Sorloth quite yet , at least until I have seen him start a game.

Anyway, whether it's Ayew, Sorloth or someone else who comes in, a change will have to be made, and perhaps that's no bad thing.

They started together against Middlesbrough and they were awful. Why not start Schlupp up with Townsend? I know he's not been great, but he's better in the air and seems to pose more of a threat than Ayew or Sorloth. At least he's actually scored in the PL this season.
