Goalscoring midfielders are arguably as useful as strikers, and a lot cheaper, especially given the rate our strikers score at! Would strengthen our midfield options. However, given that the team is playing a lot better, it could be that no one at all comes onboard in January?

Blackburn signed him from Gillingham for £750K. Goalscoring midfielder who can score from free kicks. I suspect that Blackburn will want more for him than we would be willing to pay.

Not a bad player. Probably one of the best attacking midfielders in the Championship and is having a wonderful season so far. Was the best in League One too. Turns 25 in December. Recently extended his contract, so can't see them selling cheap, but Palace could buy him. Probably around 5-10 million at the English inflated prices. On the downside, he's kind of lacking versatility. Pretty much plays attacking modfielder behind the main striker. Very rarely played on the wing. On the upside, he can (if needed) also play central midfielder.

I would be all for this. I would much rather we go for someone like Dack in the Championship. British, Young, hungry and something to prove in the PL over some mediocre PL journeyman. I Believe Dack is a Palace fan too? Edited by MonsterMunch (05 Dec 2018 12.08pm)

My daughter in law who is a Preston supporter saw Dack playing for Rovers against Preston a week or so ago. Her view was that he was never in the game and could not be more overrated. She could not understand what all the fuss was about him. Just saying !

Guaranteed his price will be way over inflated now, I cannot understand why we didn't take a gamble on him at 750k from Gillingham. What is the transfer fee for Sorloth in comparison ?

I think we went after him season before and then he was injured just before end of season. On his return he has had a number of problems so it was felt he had a bad injury record
