Might be getting on but seems to like scoring freely at selhurst and could be a good stop gap till the end of the season!If he does well maybe get another season out of him......or two!

The club could also spin this quite easily without the admission that we are broke and have no idea what we are doing recruitment wise by bringing in someone like Defoe. Something along the lines of we have the quality already in the squad and someone like Defoe with all his experience will bring them on yadda yadda

I actually think he could do well on a short-term basis as we no longer seem to put many crosses into the box, unlike a couple of seasons ago, and instead seem to do low cutbacks. It was also obvious against United that as fast as we can break with Zaha, Meyer and Townsend we lack a player who knows how to run in behind the last defender. He hasn't played enough this season to know if he's still up to it though and it's also questionable whether Bournemouth would let him go unless he pushes for it (and he's also probably still on a sizeable wack).

In theory this could be a good short-term solution.

Certainly agree age will be catching up with him, maybe a loan till the end of the season.The lack of game time could also be that Bournemouth have significantly better options in attack than Palace. Pretty sure he would get more game time were he with us. We are atrocious in front of goal, I certainly would not be turning my nose up at Jermaine Defoe

Last season Joshua King scored about the same number of goals in the PL as Murray and this season has only scored 2 fewer.This season Callum Wilson has scored more goals than Murray.And Bournemouth got £3 Mill for Murray ! And Murray is about 9 years older than both King and Wilson !
