Linked with both Everton and West Ham, apparently Borussia Dortmund is willing to let him go in the winter for just 12 million.

I don't see whay Palace couldn't invest that much or even up to 16m in a player who will guarantee you ball circulation, pressing and assists for the strikers. Ok, he's 29 years old, but at this price...he's a bargain. World class player in my opinion, even knows the English league well from when he was at Man United. And before you say he flopped at United, let's just a gree that if you're not considered good enough to start for United does not mean you're a bad player (see Zaha).

Kagawa was amazing in Germany before coming to the Premier League. Champions League finalist, maybe the best player in that Borussia Dortmund wonderful team. It's baffling to me that they're prefering to keep Mario Gotze in January for the no. 10 position and ship out Kagawa. The Japanese is a much more mobile player and has had much more success in the latest years too. Gotze has gone fat, slow and is always injured. But he's home grown and if Borussia wants this, it;s their decision. Fact is that there's a wonderful player available on the market and someone will take him.

The Bundesliga is pretty similar to the Premier League in terms of quality. Before you say that there are no good teams except for Bayern and Borussia, I can tell you that I've seen mid-table German team trashing their tough opponenets in European competitions the way few English teams do. They have 3 teams going into the forst 16 in the Champions League, just like the PL will probably have (Bayern, Borussia, Schalke/ Man City, Liverpool, Man United)

Kagawa has been outstanding in this league ever since going back to Borussia:

24 goals and 34 assists in the last 3 years in just 6800 minutes. That's almost 1 goal or assist every 100 minutes!! And he does not play as striker! And he never took penalties.

I saw him last season and he looked great, didn't look old, he was pressing and running and doing great for Borussia, lots of goals and assists. But this new manager came and he's now a substitute and wants to leave.

Borussia's playing style is a lot like Palace's and that's why I think he could do good. They counter attack a lot, they play really fast. Ok, Kagawa is short and not very well built, but he compensates with stamina and speed (like so many little fellows have done in the Premier League lately: Coutinho, Lanzini, David Silva etc)

Plus, when you buy him on Football Manager, the commercial director always praises you because you get a boost in shirt sales in Japan.

Ask me about Ronald de Boer.

Might look good in our team but he's not World Class at all!

Mattteo is a scout manqué.

Sadly, the Palace scouting network is just manky.

Very persuasive Matteo! Sadly though it’s by no means obvious that Palace have any cash at all to spend in January.

At 24 goals and 34 assists in 6800 minutes he's at Cr Ronaldo and Bale quantum level )

What is world class to you? How about a player who almost single handedly qualifies his natiinal team for every World Cup??

Miguel Almirón would cost half as much & is 4 or 5 years younger. Great at set pieces as well. Something we are lacking at the moment.

Miguel Almiron does not cost half of 12 million. They rejected a 19 million offer for him and they'd probably want close to 30 million.

Meanwhile, Kagawa is an already proven player in the top leagues in the world and at international level.

I always thought he was underrated when at Utd.

Is he too much like Meyer though, and could you play them both in the same team ?
