6 years as a Premiership club, whilst we have survived .... have we really made progress or are we just delusional.... after today’s result (Everton) it looks like it’s going to be another skin of the pants season ... I feel for Roy, a throughly decent bloke but he must be wondering what he has to do to get the team to play for 96 minutes plus ... individual mistakes litter our game and we get punished on many occasions.... I love my club but I hate every Monday having to go into work to discuss the recent result. ... What do we have to do to get a result, November for me has been written off so if we get as much as a point I’ll be delighted, if not shocked.
Please, please can we just win ugly ?

No.
No improvement at the ground (Arthur Wait is still shocking)we have a new stand being built - when? delays already on that.
The team is no further forward.
Decent managers couldn't wait to go (Allardyce, Pulis)whilst mediocre and below average one's (Pardew)stayed well past their sell by date.
Sorry, but the blame falls squarely on Parish's shoulders.

Six years as a Premiership club IS progress... how soon we forget that we were once known as the yo-yo club.

No improvement at the training ground either.

Parish is not capable.

He is not capable to manage a squad properly, this is the biggest issue. We have a seriously poor set of attacking options, anyone can see that.

We were in for Tosun, we were in for Niasse, we let Murray walk, the list goes on.

We simply don’t have enough options up front and the buck stops with the chairman.

Sorloth was a very poor signing, we sat and watched Benteke last year and we signed Sorloth and Ayew on loan. Sorry but it’s not good enough.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

You could argue that we have progressed under our own terms. This is the longest spell we have spent in the top flight, and few would deny that we have a stronger squad than the one we set out with under Holloway back in August 2013.

The trouble is you have to compare yourself against the progress of other teams rather than your own, and there we have fallen short. In the Prem League if you stand still you quickly go backwards.

Lack of stability on the managerial front and some seemingly muddled thinking on building a balanced side has left us as vulnerable as we were 5 years ago. Add to that our still decrepit stadium, and it is hard to identify much progress on real terms rather than relative ones.

Much better squad in every position but still dreadful in arguably the most important position of all - striker. Is there any team in this division, perhaps except Cardiff, with a worse strike force than us? Unacceptable and could cause a very, very expensive squad to get relegated and all of our progress to be undone.

If we get relegated we'll take massive losses on the likes of Benteke and Sakho just to get them off our wage bill. PVA, Wilf, Meyer, Tomkins, maybe Luka and Townsend will all go too, and when you consider we're paying 50+ grand per week for the likes of Schlupp and Riedewald, you wonder if we'd really have the money to renovate the squad. Our transfer business has been so appalling that relegation would be pretty ruinous.

Thats the reality of our situation and all for not targeting a striker in the summer .

As a Yank who fell in love with Palace when they came up and NBC started carrying all the games...I'd have to say Yes & No. Yes, Palace staying up. No every year is skin of the teeth to survive dropping down. I get it that Palace doesn't have the deep pockets to sign cream of the crop players. Even the novice Palace fan knows we've been screaming STRIKER for at least 5 years now. What are the scouts telling Parish? Is he deaf? Does he have zero in the bank?

Every week I wait for the shining Palace that I've seen over the years, but those performances seem to be coming less and less frequently.

This. Our team has got better, but the premiership is different now, with promoted teams spending 100, teams like everton fielding a team worth 300m. Teams I would have said we were similar too, burnley, Bournemouth even brighton progressing more than us.

Our net spend in the summer was £10 Mill.
Compare this to Burnley £30 Mill, Bournemouth £28 Mill and Brighton £52 Mill.
