I just want to praise this idea.
I get its a bit of a bind for premier league and other high level european leagues; but having just watched match day 4 highlights on tv it is leaving me with a feeling of a great product.
Players actually feeling the joy of winning games and playing against teams of a similar quality, with respect.
It is creating a 'want' to play, as before in friendlies they were just turning up to not lose
6-0.
I feel it could be what europe and football needed.
And at the end there are places at tournaments at stake along with promotion or sadly relegation.

Completely agree. Makes international football worth watching. Even qualifiers are on the whole dull but these games have pretty much all been decent.

1. The national game played by our national team should be available to ALL to view live. Disgraceful that it wasn't.
2. Yep, the format is a very good idea.
3. See 1.

I do think that all international sport should be on free view.

I expect following results passim there is a bit more "feelgood" about international football down South again and a sense that the world cup maybe wasn't such a flash in the pan after all.

Up here however the mood is somewhat different, the national team having been thoroughly embarrassing and losing feebly to one of the joke nations has gone down like a cat's turd in a vol-au-vent.

One issue also is that players who used to get a run out in the international friendlies because arbitrary substitutions were allowed no longer do because these matches of course are played to "competitive" rules. So no Soeerloth appearing for Norway, for instance.
