"A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told BBC News: "Police were called to reports of an aggressive male attempting to gain entry to residential addresses in N6.

"The male was apprehended by members of the public and was subsequently detained by police.

"He was taken to a north London police station and was subsequently released with no further action."
(BBC website)

So, after reading the headlines, and thinking 'what a hero'
I read further down, and see that Jamie's neighbours and himself attack a man with potential mental health issues. The police arrest the apprehended man and then release without charge.

I would sue Jamie Oliver and chums for assaulting a vulnerable person. Or for shamelessly exploiting the media to get himself more publicity.

Katie Price's (real name, Jordan) massive lady-garden comes to mind whenever I see that public schoolboy t w a t

OK that's not what I took from that story.

Even if the man was suffering from mental health issues I am not sure how Jamie and his neighbours were supposed to know that. It would appear he was trying to break into homes so they are entitled to protect their properties..

The press may have bigged this story up because it was Jamie but I don't see he has done anything wrong. If he has then of course this man can sue.

I am biased. I hate JO.
what I took from the (non)(fake) news, was that Jamie's neighbours stopped a man from apparently breaking into properties.
The story is so vaguely written that it could be interpreted in a multitude of ways, with minimal 'facts'. just a big picture of JO's face, and the phrase 'hero' used to describe him.

As for protecting your property, ask Tony Martin about that

My real grip was that it was a non-news story with a photo of that t w a t s face used as a hook.

Irrespective of their mental health, anyone breaking into my home gets a f*cking hiding with whatever implement is close to hand.

No excuses. No mercy.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

JO was probably hiding under his moped cover when all this happened, soiling his underwear.

now reads as,..

"Hero chef apprehends house intruder"
