Interested to hear your thoughts, my view is they won’t until we start losing or players performance drops.

I've a hunch that maybe Max will come in instead of Macca and that's all about it.
Jordan should come from the bench for Andros.

I was thinking Roy could drop Benteke and use the system we had at the end of last season, with Wilf and Andros up front and Meyer coming in in the Cabaye role.

Macca will lose his place to either one. Not sure both of them will be starters.

Now here's Wright, his first chance to see what he can do, and he's through, it's Wright, ohhhh what an impact by the substitute. And it's Ian Wright who's sent the Palace fans into ecstasy!

Why don't we get it, that it is a squad system.

Places are not lost there is no entitlement to them.

The manager chooses from the squad who will win him the game.

Despite Palace plonkers wanting to get rid of Riedewald the manager wanted him on the bench for a specific task.

Competition for places means each player must be PL match fit and ready to make his mark at any time.

Palace have a good looking squad let's keep it that way.

McArthur is an awesome player but in home games where teams sit back, it might be better to have a player who can control the game like Meyer. Also, Schlupp has been playing very narrowly, so Meyer could come in for him - especially as he's good with both feet.

Ayew I think will be a bench option - unless Benteke goes terrible again, in which case the best trainer out of him and Sorloth can take his place.

I thought he would just take over the Cabaye role. We seemed to miss that for the first half hour against Fulham before we asserted ourselves, but we will need it more against the bin dippers. Which said of course he won't quite be ready.

Why? Macca is one of our most consistent performers and I doubt either of them could match his energy and running.

I love Macca and his work rate is fantastic. However, his passing can let him down and, IMO, he would be the first place under threat. Luka is a brick wall and won't be moved.

But as someone said earlier, it's a squad game and this doesn' mean that Macca never starts. I just expect Meyer to get more

Mac’s is fab. He’ll be with us for a few more seasons yet hopefully, before gerrard can affOrd him anyway

But he’s not as good as milo as a dm and is put money on Meyer being better as a cam.

Squad game tho. But I think we are paying Meyer many more millions over the contract and paid him a hefty signing on fee, with that in mind, Meyer will soon be a starter, if he plays half as good as his rep anyway

A club the size of palace don’t let the highest earners hang on the bench, like benteke last year, we played him even when he looked lost and we knew he wasn’t gonna so much

I think Schlupp is most likely player to be on bench on occasion depending on opposition.

Ayew, Wilf and Meyer can all play that position.

Against other opposition I think Ayew/Mayer will alternate with Wilf as second striker. I am not suggesting Wilf will be dropped but he will be moved to wing.

I think that against a side like Liverpool we may play with 2 defensive midfielders Kouyate and Luka. Macca may be on bench or play instead of Schlupp thus giving us a defensive midfield 3 when required with Macca playing higher up when we are on offensive. Wilf and Andros may both play as Wingers with a single Target man knocking balls off to Andros Wilf and Macca.Meyer when fit may alternate with Macca in this formation

Andros ---------------- Wilf
---------- Benteke ---------

For Me, this seems reasonable base team. switching Kouyate for Macca(started not to last the 90 anyway?) when RH deems necessary!

only question is if Meyer wants to start from a deeper role? not sure....
