I am currently on holiday in Corfu with my two daughters, I have already met some fellow palace supporters as I strode through Corfu Town with my new away shirt on! (I will be buried/cremated in my Palace shirt so I always wear it on a plane and take another for walking about in!) I know some people have opinions on football shirts abroad but that’s not what this is about.

Now the main gripe I have is why are people sure utter kn0bs when they go abroad! I am always respectful of others, learn a bit of the language and always think about other people when doing things.

But there is a family who are complete p****’ the best example is we left our hotel on a bus with them at 11 to go to the local beach not returning until 4.30, as we walked back to the pool bar they went straight over to the sun beds which had their towels on for over 5 hours and jumped in the pool! What sort of person does that?

I know half the reason as this morning when walking to the pool one of them was draped in a Man Utd towel, and based on his accent he lives further South than me!

So am I being overly hash getting annoyed with this sort of behaviour or was seeing his half read book this morning and moving his bookmark forward 3 chapters equally ignorant? The look on his face trying to work out what was going on was rather satisfying though!!

Am I just being miserable in my late 30s?

I get it now. I thought the thread was about a kids’ movie release.

Sorry I can’t help; I don’t like those kinda holidays. Mrs YT, the young YTs and I tend to holiday in mainland Europe, where thankfully you rarely encounter other British people.

I can’t wear a palace shirt on a foreign holiday anymore, they’re not exactly the coolest of material. I’m currently in the Algarve and I’d die with one on in this heat!! A Palace towel on my sunbed will have to do

The bad news is there are still plenty of muppets left at home. They are everywhere ... to the extent I believe we have probably become a world beater in muppetry.

You're doing well then. We go to Kefalonia every other years and I can't get to grips with Greek at all.

Germans are renowned for doing that. We stayed at a hotel in the Canaries a few years ago which had loads of Germans staying there and they used to come down and put their towels on the sunbeds at 7:30 then go off to breakfast. It used to make me laugh when one of the hotel's staff came round and took them all off and chucked them in a heap

There are one or two chaps on here who I'm sure would assist in improving your Greek position.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Currently typing this from my yoga retreat on the beautiful Greek island of Ikaria. Happy to report my fellow yogi's are not the typical British abroad not seen any football shirts thank God. This place is off the tourist trail so the idiots have not found it.
Namaste

Was in Menorca a couple of weeks ago. Hotel was predominately French, with some German and Swedish thrown in. Very few British as it was a week before the schools broke up.

Was peaceful and relaxed with people slowly taking sunbeds after breakfast. By the end of the week the Brits started arriving, the noise levels increased, sunbeds all 'reserved' by 8am, pissed up people leaping in the pools at midnight. Embarrassing!
