Any idea what Benteke's injury is, I appreciate it may have been a shock to his foot when he scored with it but he did not seem to kick anything else when scoring so what happened?

It's just a knock apparently, but smells to me like they are hiding him from Palace fans to keep us optimistic.

Can’t imagine him ever being the type to play through the pain barrier or put his body on the line for the cause anyway!!

It's a knee injury apparently, with no return date set as yet.

Blunteke is just not liked, is he. He seems arrogant, though his team mates say he isnt. He is as other players who need to be handled carefully. Is there something there? Only his goal scoring, or lack of it, will tell us.

I don't dislike Benteke and I don't know him personally so I can't comment on his personality. He had a very good 2016/17 season, but clearly lost confidence last season for whatever reason. Personally I'm hoping he'll have a return to form this season. All the time he wears the shirt and is picked to play by Roy he, like any other of our squad, has my 100% support.

He doesn't come across as arrogant in any of the interviews I've seen with him, quite the opposite in fact, the other players have always seemed to like him, perhaps the nicking of Luka's penalty could have come across as arrogant but it was equally a sign of someone just desperate to improve their season.

Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot.

Hope he recovers soon and is available for the season. He is crucial for us and I have faith that he will deliver goals.

Its true many are not keen. How quickly fans can turn when form deserts the player.
Roy has said more than once that he is a very popular member of the squad. They feel his pain as a team when he hasn't been scoring and are very protective of him when he is criticised. Roy himself said no one works harder on the training ground.
This must count for something surely?
I'd love to see him turn it around and start banging the goals in again.
Big season coming up for him.

They/we haven't though have they? Some moaning on here but in the stadium he kept being supported. And a full season of going missing would not be quickly. We all hope he will come good coming season. A few goals in the first few games could turn him into his old self.
