Ode to our Flying Dutchman and next season’s come of age delivery king. In the spirit of Postman Pat.

🎶
Roast ‘em, Pat
Roast ‘em, Pat
Roast ‘em, Pat - on the overlap.

He just can’t stop scoring.
Gets the Palace roaring.
Pat makes us all really happy fans.
🎶

Lyrics just wouldn’t work with Fireman Sam. Besides, he already left this time last year.

" If you were to ask me to name three geniuses, I probably wouldn't say Einstein, Newton... I'd go Martyn, Gordon, Young, ...Salako!"

Would be alright if it wasn’t a children’s programme.

I’d like some reference to sticking to you like glue but his actual defending isn’t his best strength shall we say.

If we could get a few of us to congregate within a reasonable distance of each other I'd be right up for belting this one out as our eponymous hero makes one of his sterling runs down the wing. Top shout.

I reckon you could remain a small choir.

Also probably best to stay clear of any roasting references where footballers are concerned.... .

To the tune of UB40’s ‘Rat in my kitchen’

‘There’s a Pat on the left wing what are we gonna do’

I’ll get my coat too. Oh that rhymes.

Surely the song to use would be Musical Youth’s Pass the Dutchie?!

“Pass the dutchie on the left hand side...”

Clearly ‘Pat the Dutchie on the left hand side’ then.

Au contraire. My suggestion was going to be a variation of ‘Stuck on You’ by Lionel Ritchie.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I'm thinking of crying out PVA's name to the start of 'Champion the Wonder Horse' ... "Patrick van Aaa-aarrn-holt, Patrick van Aaa-aarrn-holt", and the advantage of this is you can keep the original lyrics: "like a streak of lightening flashing from a bow .... like a mighty cannonball he seems to fly" etc. Still can't top the OP though.
