After 3 games I have to say that I am not impressed. He just doesn't instill me with confidence. Body language seems wrong, punches straight back into the danger area.

I would prefer to see Jack Butland.

Thoughts?

I agree ... he looks and acts like nothing special in goal. I reckon he'd be better off doing house removals!

To be fair; it wasn’t a pun!

Of the English keepers available, at the top level, Pickford seems the one most mentally able to cope.

Because that's what it comes down to.....I don't think it's down to big differences in ability as such.

In fact when you look at the job of a goalkeeper you could say that being in the Premiership isn't important....for example, shots aren't hit harder in the Premiership than down the local park.

But what matters is being able to perform on the big stage when the pressure is on and the Premiership is the only proof of that.

Hart went on for far too long....the best English keeper I ever saw was Shilton.

He's had a great tournament so far.

Superb performance against the Swedes. The save just after our second goal was vital, not that the save from the header wasn't too but that one allowed us to keep that breathing space.

Optimistic as ever

That save vs Colombia, as pointless as it ended up being, was one of the best saves I've seen.

Pickford's been brilliant but more praise should go towards how we've defended, mainly as a team, by pressing the defenders, not giving them time on the ball and keeping our shape.

We were so comfortable v Sweden it was almost unbelievable to watch. If we play at that level against Croatia there is only one winner

Well, I have to say that I may be wrong in my assessment of Mr Pickford in my opener. This guy has grown in statue since the Columbia game and produced some magnificent saves with it in the Sweden win.

He now has that arrogance about him, a bit like Neuer and not only a good shot stopper but bossing the defence as to where he wants them. Clearly they have been working on him but credit must go to him as well.

Incredible to think that he has only got 10 caps!
