I have always thought they have viewed him as their rising star from the academy. Versatile - can play at centre-half, at left-back and as a defensive midfielder.Good communicator with a cool head and comfortable with both feet.

Pellegrini probably hasn't a clue who he is and I'm not sure how much influence he has in transfers anyway as there are reports in the media that he has already fallen out with his directors over transfer policy and I'm not sure that he's even turned up in East London yet as there were media reports a couple of days ago that he had been mugged in Chile

Yes I have heard about a so-called rift between himself and the club.On the subject of transfer policy, surely this would have been discussed with him before he accepted the job ? They have signed Fredericks from Fulham - this might have been in place before Pellegrini arrived so he played no part. Regards being in Chile, he was probably taking a holiday back in his homeland before the rigours of a PL season so one cannot really criticise him for re-charging his batteries.Horrible incident in Chile.

I know when it comes to the Premier league the money people get paid is just obscene, i was lucky if i got £50 a month pay rise and this bloke at 19 is turning his nose up at £8000 per week. Works out at over £400000 a year...pure greed...there should be a limit how much these so called superstars get now as its just going to go up and up

But the PL is what it is with clubs willing to spend fortunes on player wages. We hear about spiralling transfer fees but we often forget about the wages involved as well."He only cost 15 Mill - yes, but add on his huge wages as well" Contrast this with clubs in the lower divisions which release a number of players, players who have no club to go to and might not get a club for a while. These players have families and mouths to feed and if they do move it might be far away where they have to uproot their families etc etc. These players haven't been earning fortunes when they were contracted to clubs.Different worlds.

Perhaps if they don't get a club for a while the little darlings may join the real world and get a 9-5 job and earn less than £3000 per month, like many of us

I have seen this guy play 3 or 4 times and every time he has made a bad error leading to a goal. Might explain the low offer on his new contract. I would stay well clear.
