Surely complete s***e - especially if we passed on fredericks because we didnt want to stump the development of bisakka. Really do not see us forking out that sum for a RB.

Dont let Cabaye go

I think that we will look at an improvement in this area if Ward leaves or doesn’t sign a contract so. We can’t possibly have too much reliance on AWB and Kelly is a poor second option imho. I notice all the RBs are coming out of the woodwork now

Agreed. Keep Ward, let Bissaka develop, keep Kelly as No. 3.

Surely, any 90s child here would love to add The Shredder AKA Oroku Saki to our ranks.

Unless he has improved a lot since he was at Hanover, he is not good enough.

Playing for Japan this afternoon against Colombia. It's hard to tell his defensive capabilities as Colombia are down to 10 men. But he looks ok going forward, neat and tidy and was unlucky not to score. He also doesn't look like what you'd expect a Japanese player would look like. He's a big strong unit.

He'd certainly be an upgrade on Ward and they may feel AWB is still unproven. His goalbound shot that was deflected led to corner Japan scored winner from.

Still the money talked abput for transfer and wages is high especially given his age and thus lack of sell-on value

Nothing of him, really. Now he'll cost more because he qualified at the World Cup (though Japan didn't deserve it, really).

Would be worth nothing much if he didn't play for Marseille, a team which played the Europa League final this season. 9 million for this guy?? He's nothing more than Advincula from Peru and that guy is 15 times cheaper. Fit and hard to pass but that's it. Actually, I tghink Advincula would be better suited for the English football. But not an upgrade on Ward either.

I'm not sure it's the first position we need filling but to suggest he is not a significant upgrade on Ward is bizarre. He hasn't really put a foot wrong in any of the games to date, keeps a good eye on the man he is marking and is on the lookout to attack at every opportunity. Good in the air for his height, he is extremely cool, is a very accurate passer and can whip in a good cross.
He had no trouble with Mane but a real test will be Hazard in the next round
