Sad news

Possibly my favourite ever Palace player

The goals he scored as a winger converted to centre-forward were absolutely crucial in the season we were first promoted to the top tier

Very sad ,the passing of the late great Cliff Jackson.
Centre forward when I saw my first ever Palace match in 1968.
Part of the 1968-69 promotion winning side that took us to the top flight for the first time.
A member of the wonderful team the brilliant Bert Head put together on a shoestring.
Happy days.

How sad.I think I saw him make his debut and, quite possibly, his last game for Palace. A pivotal player in 68-69 side.

There was Cliff and John and then there was the Taylor brothers if I’m thinking straight.
Do you remember when that bloke from the Park road stand ran on with a bottle of Champers and Cliff had to have a swig out of it?
True legend of our club

You might be thinking of Colin Taylor and Tony Taylor - they were not brothers.

I recall Cliff Jackson scoring the winner in that dramatic 3-2 win over Fulham in 1969 (We were 0-2 down)to seal our promotion. Both Colin and Tony Taylor played in that game.

Met Cliff at re-unions over the years. A really lovely bloke. Loved his goal celebrations.

Tony and Colin Taylor weren't related. Both very decent players also.

Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it..

Not only were the Taylor’s not related they weren’t even the same nationality. Colin was English bought from Walsall after he scored the only goal for them in beating us up there - one of his long distant trademark cannonballs - I remember it well as I’d gone up there by coach !Tony was a Scot bought from Morton with John Loughlan our left back.
Converting Cliff Jackson from winger to centre forward was inspirational by Bert Head. Cliff was a revelation and was pivotal in our promotion. Rest in peace.
