Watched this again recently and if you've seen the karate kid you'll love this. The guy actually makes some good points... Oh and if you liked the karate kid the sequel is out for free on youtube... pretty good too...

Cobra Kai which follows is only free for first two episodes but well worth the cost for the whole season. I know people could go and see it all for free but if you dont support projects like this we wont see them continue or even start to begin with this is not a big hollywood production every £$ matters. It does address bullying and explains from Johnny view how he saw it which I fully agree with.

If you like the film you will love this. Very clever update on where the guys are today. Highly recommend.

History is written and then rewritten by victors on a continual basis. Cobra Kai is corny and fun....I've only watched the first season so far but it had some laugh out loud moments. Looking forward to catching up with it. Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Jan 2021 8.51am)

the fact that the Blonde bloke acting the part couldnt beat his way out of a wet paper bag is only adding to the overall amusement.

Oh and if you liked the karate kid the sequel is out for free on youtube... pretty good too... I haven’t seen any of Cobra Kai so hours of easy viewing now. I saw Karate Kid yet again on Boxing Day and delayed going to do my own workout until it was over. Gave the sequel straight after a miss in case I sat there all day. Underneath the obvious veneer of good vs bad that sells for kids, what I noticed in the first film is that Daniel San isn’t necessarily a bully but more wants to be the alpha male but can’t. After the beach scene, the friends of the kid Daniel meets in his new apartment block dismiss him after that short fight and at school after he attempts to play the big man. He was asking for trouble on the beach vs a bigger and tougher Johnny and in the school toilets soaking them all. All after being there for days. Not very street wise for a kid from New York. But the spoilt rich boys in this fictional film had everything going for them at that age. Athletic, strong, hard, popular, rich, spoilt, light blonde hair (actor playing Johnny has an East European surname and not an historical or privileged English one) and Daniel didn’t. I don’t think he was jealous of their family wealth but they were ‘it’ and he wanted to be and do whatever he wanted but the school kid hierarchy wouldn’t let him and he’s bitten off more than he could chew. If he kept his head down he’d probably have learnt how to program his spectrum to play some bad tune with some basic graphics. The rich kid and poor kid a regular ‘80s film theme. Made me think of ‘The Breakfast Club’ Daniel’s problems were probably no different for many teenagers who move areas. Made worse if you go poking the hornets’ nest but don’t like it when you can’t get your way.

Ever noticed the music when Daniel does the crane kick in the film that the music is the same as the first few bars of the main theme music in Terminator?
