I don't know if anyone else made it to the U23 match at SP last night, I thought it was a poor game with Palace losing 0-1 to Notts Forest AET.

I know people on here sometimes suggest we should give more young players a chance in the first team but, on the evidence of last night, I'm doubtful that any of those on display are anywhere near ready to challenge for a place. I'm sorry to say it but I'd include Jach in that assessment.

Some of them showed occasional nice touches (Kirby or Lokilo) but nothing like enough to justify elevation. Hopefully one day, but not yet.

Did anyone else go and form a different opinion? Or has anyone seen them play more often?

I saw some if it on the Palace TV and was a little disappointed as I had been under the impression we have been outstanding this season so my expectations were high. Forest had the outstanding players in their team and looked more like a team than we did.
Our passing was astray on many occasions and our players got dispossessed after hanging onto the ball for too long.
The one player I expected to see as a dominant figure was our January Polish Centre half signing but he was well below the standard needed to get in our first team. Anyway they are all still learning so we should not be too critical they have afterall had a good season. COYP

I do remember Richard Shaw saying we don't tend to play as well at Selhurst, so perhaps some nerves in the team?

I'd not judge suitability for the 1st 11 based on this match alone.

I mean is AWB likely to have stood out had he been playing?

Maybe hopeful on my part.

I'd agree with the general sentiments expressed here on the basis of what I saw. I couldn't say that any of them were knocking on the first team door.
