Has come up in Dougie's football album cards by the looks of it.

Hope he's better than Clive Mendonca. No nothing about him but presumably if he has Belgian caps in that midfield he must be decent?

He’s a good player but he reminds me a lot of Luka and it just seems odd that we want to occupy central midfield with more “anchors” when we’re actually crying out for more of a creative breed. Especially if Cabaye goes, it is absolutely essential we find a replacement. He gets stick Yohan, but I’m almost 100% certain he will by sorely missed if he does go. He’s the only player we have who can bring the ball down and play. And being good in possession is not just about attacking, it’s about controlling the pace of a game and limiting the oppositions chances. We seem to struggle massively with taking the sting out of games. Considering we were heavily in for Amadou in January, and now supposedly this guy, it would appear we do want another holding midfielder for some reason. Doesn’t bode well at all for Riedewald who I think really is a massive prospect for us. Would be a great shame for us to not utilise his potential. Gotta say I’m not convinced by Freedman at all. For all the (deserved) attention on his transfer successes in the promotion season. He’s been uninspiring so far, and it should be noted his transfer policy at Bolton & Forest didn’t exactly set the world on fire... Edited by Mstrobez (26 Apr 2018 5.59pm)

If he’s capable of playing central defence then maybe he’s a replacement for Delaney and a solid back up for Luka - who has no natural replacement that I can see. I agree with Mstrobez - Cabaye is our midfield playmaker and we need another. To improve the team we need a younger version of him - and he is then the backup

I think the concern surrounding Riedewald thus far has been his ability aerially. He’s very good in the tackle, has great positional awareness and can comfortably play from deep - seems to have a really good weight of pass and appreciation for players around him. He’s had a season of training and chameo appearances. If he’s been able to become more competitive in the air, I’d really like to see a lot more of him next season. Looks a fine player and I think we should do all we can to accomodate his place in the squad/first team. Edited by Mstrobez (27 Apr 2018 5.21pm)
