Sad news indeed. RIP.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

A desperately sad sad day. Alan. You were an absolute gent. One of the first members I met when I joined the HOL in 2006. A true Palace man. An opinionated one (haha) but always made my trips home and away an enjoyable one. So glad I got the opportunity to see you and chat at the Brighton game last week. May you rest easy my friend. Palace has lost a good one. ❤💙❤💙 Edited by South Devon Eagle (21 Apr 2018 5.24pm) Edited by South Devon Eagle (21 Apr 2018 5.26pm) Attachment: IMG_0902.PNG (1,807.81Kb)

Absolutely devastated how this escalated to this sad and sudden conclusion. One of life's really nice guys who didn't like bullsh$t and loved Palace. I talked to one of his close friends last night and remarked that his last abiding football memory would've been beating Brighton, how he would've loved that. Our condolences to his friends and family. Fly high Al, fly high.
I refuse to believe there are that many people out there that can't spell. Too f**king lazy, that's what I think. |

I was lucky enough to sit in front of and around Alan at the back of Holmesdale block F for a large part of my time at Selhurst Park. As SDE said earlier, Alan was a true gentleman (and looked a million dollars in a suit). He had a sparkling wit, could go on a rant about a certain Palace player for upwards of a half (David Wright anyone?) but was very self deprecating and immensely kind. When my ex fiancé and I, broke up six years ago, Alan gave me the perfect advice about how to let her go but made sure to check in from time to time. I suspect there’s several others of us on here that have been blessed to be visited by that side of Alan. He was a fighter and managed to beat out cancer and as much as a tragedy as his death is it seems fitting that his last game was a win against Brighton. Thank you Al. Rest in peace.

How sad, I never knew him except through his posts on here and the place won't be the same without him.
