How we ended up clinging on I’ll never know. Positives: RLC was quality and the Liverpool-esque setup was working well until we stopped defending. Pee-d off to give away cheap goals - plus ca change... I have to say we do make it difficult for ourselves. I have to say I’ve complained loudly about the lack of substitutions but why bring on Benteke? We need better game management. Another win and we should be safe.

I have to say Loftus-Cheek is sublime. He makes running with the ball and changing directions look easy. (From experience, I always found it a bit of a challenge) He sort of glides forward then, without too much effort, suddenly changes direction. The Brighton players were completely foxed. I don't know what they were saying to the referee, but I imagine it was something along the lines of: "How come the laws of physics don't seem to apply to him?" Also just got back, apparently in a much better mood than the OP. We don't do things the easy way, and our defending really is troubling, but I'll take this win however it came.

Apparently the laws of football do not apply to weed defenders. Good point. That bloke who fouled Wilf twice didn't get booked. But a palace player gets booked while he's on the floor for handling the ball. Then Dunk gets away with pulling back LoftusCheek, who'd just beaten him on the halfway line in a breakaway Tat ref was crap. Zaha got booked for putting his hand on the left back's chest.

A strange game. A well worked move for the first goal, maybe a bit of fortune for the second. Absolutely on top, place buzzing. Then Sakho puts Luka in difficulty with a short pass, he concedes a foul and a booking. They get into our half and score shortly thereafter. Zaha does brilliantly to score a third and then we are too open and concede again. Second half much more like a premiership game, and we didn't look to be in too much difficulty, but Murray appears to miss a sitter at the end. Benteke didn't really offer much, most fans stayed until after the players had left the field, chanting and singing. A great atmosphere.

They are an awful club with terrible support and no backbone. I'm embarrassed when people asked why they are our rivals. They don't deserve the privilege. EAGLES!

Rivalry really jumped on he shark this season. An embarrassment. Rather have a rivalry with the clowns, at least they are genuine fans.
