the old shows whose music and credits were amazing but the shows themselves were pony - been loving re-runs of Randall and Hopkirk but some of the episodes are dire, same with The Persuaders and Avengers, and The Man from Uncle, not to mention The Saint, and you can throw in The Prisoner for good measure (why are there never re-runs of Department-S?). Here are my top 3 fav tunes and credits - it's not the show it's the start and finish that counts in this poll. 1. Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) Ted Apsleigh, John Barry, Ron Grainer ... amazing composers. And the graphics departments were right up there with them - the hand over the A-Z for Randall & Hopkirk, the stick man Saint etc... bl**dy marvellous.

I didn't get out much...
You're asking me what it's all about, and I can't tell you because I don't know what's going on myself. |

The Professionals - that split second before the car crashes through the window Grange Hill (with Tucker, Trisha, Gripper & Ro-land) - thought it was a great credit sequence at the time, probably wasn't (and based in a school whose kids never swore) Tales of the Unexpected - had a James Bond-esque title sequence with the (probably not) naked women dancing in silhouette.
“My experience of life is that it is not divided up into genres; it’s a horrifying, romantic, tragic, comical, science-fiction cowboy detective novel. You know, with a bit of pornography if you’re lucky." |
