No, I don't like the big venues

Saw them first time at London Astoria when Favourite worst Nightmare was released, nothing will better that

Great band live in the early days but feel like many bands they have not evolved.

I hate it when bands start to get too big for their boots and believe the hype.

Kasabian are another example who I saw in Brixton after their first 2 albums and sang Fire all the way back to the train station. Now look at them...complete sh1te!

Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Wouldn't say Arctic Monkeys are sh1te, AM was a brilliant album and Alex Turner is a fantastic song writer. OK they might be selling out doing the stadium venues but they can fill em so doesn't make sense to do small venues even if they wanted to. Plus they're still signed to an indie label when they could easily got a mega deal with a major label, hence no lead single yet, their decision.

Agree about Kasabian, never liked them much, just posers

This may tide you over until I find something for the .mp3 thread. No guarantees on quality or even if they will be the correct final songs. Maybe you can listen and advise.

She looks like fun reminds me very much of the song sexy boy by air. Anyone else agree?

Didn't Gordon Brown reveal to the press that he had the Arctic Monkeys on his iPod?

First listen and am a little disappointed, it's not rocky at all and most of the songs seem to go along at the same pace and theme

Might take a while to grow on me

I'm all for evolution and progression, but it's self-indulgent and devoid of melody, unfortunately. No wonder they haven't released any singles from it - there isn't a chorus or hook in sight.

Compared to their previous work, it's so disappointing.

On first listen I wasn't overly impressed either, very wishy washy and distinct lack of ballsy guitars.

I'll be seeing them at Primavera next month though for the 4th time. Previous times have been after 1st, 3rd and 5th album launches and it's always been great. Just hope they don't play through this album in its entirety

Got my vinyl copy yesterday I like it a lot it hasn’t got a lot of variety but it’s got a real vibe to it I actually prefer this album and humbug to all the others
