Stompie Moeketsi a 14yo boy was kidnapped and murdered by her bodyguards. What her involvement, if any, remains unclear although from memory her answers did not inspire confidence. It would appear that she made her name and fortune off the back of her husband's reputation.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Everything I know about the woman, admittedly from what could be a biased media, makes me think she was a particularly nasty piece of work.

"With our necklaces (blazing car tyres around the necks of opposition) we shall liberate this land," was one quote from her. A BBC reporter just said, "...she made some mistakes.." Stompy, the 14 year old victim of her gang, was just one of these "mistakes"; don't you just love the BBC news these days? Sure, apartheid was a great evil, but many of her actions and those of the victorious ANC in have been evil too.

A state funeral for the 'Mother of the Nation'.

"The years of imprisonment hardened me... I no longer have the emotion of fear... There is no longer anything I can fear. There is nothing the government has not done to me. There isn't any pain I haven't known."

The state treated her brutally for no more than being Mandela's wife.

Imprisonment torture and even exile.

In 27 years she never wavered in support of her husband and the cause of freedom from apartheid, in fact would it have happened at all except for her, he was out of the way in jail.

Perhaps that's why they give her this title, her energy activism even revolution a driving force for freedom from apartheid.

No millions of South Africans are free from apartheid, in quite a big part due to her.

She loved a bit of sport. She set up the Mandela United Football Club (google it), which is probably why Nelson had nothing to do with her when he got out.

If you think Palace have a lot of injuries, you should see what was inflicted by Winnie Mandela's Football Team.

Another Mugabe or Amin, in all but name and power. Thank fck Nelson kept a great distance between him and her.

Her cremation comes about 30 years too late
