Seriously all. If you sell your ticket for "face value" as a season ticket holder, what you pay for your own ticket is less than a member would pay "on the door" if you like. Is it right to charge £45 for a ticket (because that's the going rate at the box office), when as a season ticket holder you pay £27 (theoretically!). Is that "touting" as you're actually turning a profit on your ticket? Serious question.

Yes on twickets they put your ticket up for what you paid for it plus their charges so what would you do as buyer or seller?

I think think you would be hard pressed to find anyone thinking selling a season ticket for the "normal" box office price is touting. Why should you pass the loyalty bonus you get for buying a season ticket on to someone you HELP OUT with a ticket? If it makes you uncomfortable you can always donate to a charity, or maybe keep it in a kitty to buy Palace gifts for babies born to Brighton or Millwal supporting friends or colleagues

Or sell 11 of the worst games I don't care to watch against your WBA's and Southamptons and go to 8 'big games' and they're all free

Well yes, but in that case you'd be happily touting away and would not be asking the moral questions you are. And I'd say we are nowwhere near popular enough to make sure you'd get that profit, as we don't sell out all games. Also the lesser games are not 40quid. Apart from the Watford one that is. Mind you, you may be able to see Manure and the bindipper games forfar more then 40. Originally posted by CJr94

I have in the past attended games not even remembering who we are actually playing.

I’ve only ever sold my season ticket to friends when I can’t make it for the pro-rated amount, which is about £25. In the past when I’ve bought of season ticket holders on here, they have done the same to me. The spirit of this forum is to help other fans out, it’s not a market place. Last time I tried to buy a ticket on here someone tried to sell me a child’s ticket for £40. Which to me is deeply unethical. I’m not the type of person to complain about these matters, but if someone did the seller could find themselves losing their ticket, getting banned from Selhurst, and possibly a criminal record for the sake of a few quid. The reselling of football tickets is illegal. If a profit isn’t going to be made, then it is likely that any authorities are likely not to have any interest, even though it is illegal. If people start trying to make profit then it will put them and HOL at risk.

That's like me, if for whatever reason I can't make a game, sometimes I've let mine go for as cheap as £15 depending on who it's going to. I don't think I've ever charged more than £25 for a ticket. That's why I ask, when we as ST holders pay £25 for the ticket, is it right to sell @ the box office asking price of £45 or whatever, if CAT A.

If we can't make it, we sell our Arthur ST seats to mates for £30 - works out about right, small profit/loss depending on whether you take the early bird offer... .

I must be a sucker, if I can't make a match (thankfully not that often) I give mine to one of my mates.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |
