Don't think I've seen a worse start to a test match than this.

18/6 and Boult has 4 for 7. We'll do well to make it to lunch at this rate, and it's a late start due to it being a day night.

What was it I was saying about overpaid English cricketers.

Performance should match pay more closely. We pay our players more than they are worth.

We didn't make it to lunch. At least Overton turned up to keep us well away from the record low test score, to much disappointment from Mark Richardson and Scott Styris. It wasn't even our lowest innings in the end.

It was good bowling to be fair, apart from Jimmy who lofted one for an easy catch to wrap it up.

Absolute s***e. Blameless wicket, decent bowling but nothing special, decent conditions, disgraceful performance. Mostly down to ludicrous shot selection.

Unacceptable.

'Can't be bothered' cricket.....Well, at least can't be bothered enough.

It's sad to see how few people there were watching the game as the ground couldn't have been more than 10% filled

I think it was due to the weather - the vast majority twigged very early there would be minimal play, and went home, but they didn't actually abandon play until very late.

How funny would this be if England collapse for 58, and yet don't lose

A good series win in the one dayers over the hosts NZ.

But what's 1st test match and Joe Root out for a duck?

Is that allowed in the rules ?????

What was the excuse on day 1?

Very, but I can't see it happening unless it rains for about 2 and half days of the 3 that are left.

popped into the bookies at lunchtime and NZ are only 1/3 - I was sorely tempted to lump on it!

I've just seen the forecast, and if correct, it looks like there won't be any play until mid-afternoon on Sunday!
