"Ex-Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan was robbed of his £100,000 watch during a gunpoint robbery in south London." Hands up, who was it?

100k watch??? Sorry you got robbed, Simon, but given I have no interest in watches i therefore have even less sympathy/empathy for someone who needs to wear 100k's worth of ticking metal on their wrist.
When the time comes, I want die just like my Dad - at peace and asleep. |

It really is unnecessary to have that watch and to say it has sentimental value because he bought it when we won promotion is confusing what makes something sentimental imo. A photo, an object from a moment in time, a gift, however cheap is sentimental because there's an emotional memory and meaning attached to it. An expensive watch you went to a shop and slapped the money down for or used or card for is not sentimental. That is just materialism.

I saw a BBC documentary last week on scooter crime and one of them called 'Mr X' went to Williams F1 I think after showing how good and quick he is on computer games and proved to be faster on the simulator than the people on their training program and up there on times to make him a fast F1 driver. I think he would need £100k to achieve it. Surprised that the F1 team require top talent to pay still.

Easy crime for the potential reward, when you think kids are robbing other kids at knife point for their mobiles. Although a rare watch with no papers , they’d be looking at a fraction of 100 grand.

Seem to remember it being reported at the time. Probably only in the news again as he was talking bout it on Talksport yesterday.

Agree Casual, 10 years should be 10 years. Let's hope cctv has done it's job And the toe rag gets caught.

Stolen bikes, never the same bike for a while after a crime, different crash helmet and clothes. The only way they can be caught is just after the crime. I'm afraid that sentimental item that's actually just vulgar consumerism has gone for ever.
