Engage and help it to be a success.

The ordinary Russian, of course we are your friends.

In sport we can demonstrate it.

Hopefully Putin will offer ten years in the salt mines to any trouble makers.
Without knowing how afraid people may or may not be of him ,he won't want it stained with crowd trouble.
The eyes will be everywhere I'm sure.

There is no way that Russia or Qatar should be allowed to host any but the eurovision song contest.

However that doesn't mean we should strop off. It wasn't our decision. It was those corrupt FIFA knobs. We go and fly back at the quarter final stage.

Yes,

FIFA is corrupt, Russia is corrupt.

FIFA get away with it because people know that to stand up to them you have to give up something they love.

In Russia you are either part of the system, or a victim of it.

Not only would we be denying them huge TV and advertising revenues, we'd also cause them both massive reputation damage.

No. There's no evidence that Russia poisoned the spy, or that they've done pretty much anything else that they've been accused of by various western governments over the last couple of years.
