Just been looking at the BBC sport section and they are discussing potential new managers...

They are all pushing for young managers and talking about how they need a quality striker for next season. Not one of them is talking about the very real danger they are in right now, they are just discussing how to improve in the summer.

It feels like the first time Newcastle went down, even 10 matches before the end of the season they were talking about what players they were going to buy next season and just refused to believe they wernt going to go down.

I think Southampton are very likely to go down unless the new manager turns things round fast and dont have the luxury of discussing taking chances with young managers...

Heard them discussing this this morning on TalkSh!te and they made the point that the club was currently a basket case and no manager worth his salt would be interested - the favourite seems to be Hughes. They were all pretty sure Saints were finished, though.

I have noted that 5 of their remaining 8 fixtures are away from home and they still have to play Arsenal, Chelsea and Man C, although only Arsenal away.

Was feeling confident that Saints had 18th place booked almost ensuring we’d make 17th at worse.
Let’s hope whoever they get they don’t benefit from any ‘bounce.”

I believe I was explaining about their 'Black box' system and their detailed scouting system whereby they keep tracks of several players for each position. And they have detailed knowledge of managers and coaches in Europe.

They do have a very good infrastructure but I suppose selling one's best players year on year can have an adverse affect. One could get a very good team out of Ex-Southampton players currently 'ploughing their furrow' and this speaks volumes about the club.
