It doesn't. It means soft or pathetic but is really used when someone backs away from an argument/fight. As in 'you/he melted.'

It's an embarrassing put down that makes you sound like a Danny Dyer wannabe anyway. There are plenty of words to accurately describe things and a situation but this is part of the ITV reality TV and chat show dumbing down of the nation. Okay though if you don't get sucked in by it and let them get on with it. Enough educated and talented immigrants to compete with in the future so a few muppets knocked down the opportunity ladder is their choice. You don't have to sound like a pretend hooligan, simpleton on the This Morning sofa or a street gangster.

New? This was being used about 15 years ago. I'm sure Jay used it was on The Inbetweeners at least once or twice and seeing as you're moniker is Pussay Patrol you should know. I heard Pussay Patrol before it was used in the 1st film in the penultimate episode last night when Jay drives Neil round the residential estate slowly in his small red car with Will in the back to find out what it's all about. Then the squirrel mugging off jay gets it.

Maybe melt is being used more. A bit sad really but people are becoming angrier.

I find it quite a useful term. Along with snowflake and fake news

Generally people who use them aren’t worth having any meaningful conversation with

If someone used it in my presence I would consider it an affront to my 'douchebag' status.

I suspect "melt" is used by snowflakes instead of "chocolate soldier" which is not racist as Naomi Campbell discovered in a court case. But no doubt some people are offended by it for the wrong reasons.

Snowflake sounds like a sugar coated cornflake and melt sounds like and is a biscuit or a snack. Better than being called a dry lunch' then.

Stupid cvnt will never be beaten.
