Once upon a time we were as dependent on Peter Taylor as we are now on Wilf - when PT went to Spurs we moved onwards and upwards very quickly - love Wilf, but if we do cash in and use the money to build a young progressive team under Roy it might herald the next level up, because it's been ever more expensive fire fighting that has kept us in the prem, and that can lead to a dangerous bubble - need to build a squad, it might mean we have to go down and bounce back, but planning for life without Wilf may be the making of us, as it was when we lost Taylor.

The difference being that all premier league clubs inc Palace can pay the relatively big wages that was only available at the big clubs back in Taylors time of playing .
The financial reasons to move has been taken out of the equation so we are left with sporting ambition . Not forgetting we were in the third tier when we sold Taylor to Spurs ,Wilf is an established premier league player , playing every week and a fans favourite .

Hes playing for an improving team , a club with ambition and dare I say it one with a vision of European football . We don't need the money , hes South London and we will build our team with him . They will build statues of him in Thornton Heath high street ,Norwood Junction and Selhurst and they will name a jerk Chicken sandwich after him at Morleys

Or he could go and sit on the bench at Tottenham .
