Is anyone else following and enjoying the Winter Olympics? It’s great to see sports that are not common in the U.K. especially livening people throwing themselves down sheets in ice on what looks like a tea tray and the curling.

I love the event that has 6 snowboarders going off at the same time down a hill with jumps. Great fun to watch. One hour of highlights each evening (BBC2) is about the right amount of coverage for me.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Yeah, I've been seeing a fair bit. I was watching slope style until about 3am on the first weekend of it but have been more of a post-sleep viewer since. There was a nice finish in the ice dancing today, where the French couple finish with a long held pose with one of her tits proudly on display, which the IOC deemed worthy of a slow motion replay on the world feed, while the skaters sat awaiting the scores from the judges.

Some very tight finishes and spectacular clashes between them. The commentators got quite excited as well.
The pyramid to beat all pyramids!! Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in? |

Just watched Elise “Crash” Christie fail miserably yet again. She should tie the skates on to her arse as she spends more time on it than standing. Well done you.

I have lived here in Switzerland for over 30 years and still don't give it the time of day, no do not get excited by it at all.

Hugely over-hyped by the BBC for consecutive winter Olympics and has a now perfect record of 6 failures, in 6 events. She should take up crashed ice instead.

I'm still trying to work out how anyone thought a 2-man luge would be a good idea.......

Loved the snowboard racing, perfect for TV. Also found the cross country skiing relay oddly compelling, as it looks so bloody exhausting. It's all about the ice hockey for me, but for some reason all we get to see is bloody bowls on ice and a procession of very brave people going down a tunnel of ice in almost exactly the same way as each other.

I've found the whole winter sports spectacle absolutely riveting and wonder how they manage to avoid terrible injuries. Unfortunately, I'm now too old for most of it but the "bowls on ice" is genteel by comparison and I'd love to give it a go. Edited by Henry of Peckham (21 Feb 2018 7.15pm)

I quite liked the woman freestyle skier who managed to get into the Olympics without ever doing a jump. She seems to have managed it by entering competitions with less than 30 competitors so that she had competed in qualifying events and came in the top 30. Of course in some of them she did not come last because others crashed doing their jumps whilst she just serenely skied down the course.
