I know this isn't scientific but someone (I forget who) on Reddit made a table of last season's results with this season's next to it. We're 2 points better off currently. I added the colour next to the remaining fixtures to symbolise how the results went last season. With the two promoted teams we've yet to play I substituted the 2nd from bottom relegated team with the team that finished 2nd in the championship. So Huddersfield was swapped with Middlesbrough. Naturally Brighton was swapped with Sunderland. Going by that, we should get 40 points but then we had a horror run-in last season and I think the last 6 games this season are all highly winnable, with some players back. As I said, this isn't scientific but does make you wonder how Pardew survived 6 defeats in a row when you think how this season has gone. Attachment: t3_7x07o4.png (96.50Kb)
