How the fcuk does Dowie get to be a speaker (paid no doubt) at a Palace thing on 9 May? Does no one at the club remember he walked out on us to be closer to his family in the North West, whilst his satnav took him to the big top down at clown town! Edited by Dweeb (10 Feb 2018 11.17am)
Taking the bungy jump since 1964. Never to see John Jackson in a shirt again Sorry to see Lee Hills go, did we ever see Alex Marrow? We did January 2013 |

Edited by Dweeb (10 Feb 2018 11.17am) If we blacklisted everyone that left us in the lurch, it would be a pretty small pool to choose from!

Let’s not forget that when he first arrived he did take us from being Division One relegation candidates into the Premier League in the space of five months. It went pretty much pear-shaped after that though. I wasn’t at all sorry he left and his geographical knowledge is appalling.

Dowie was good for us. I'd shake his hand if I bumped into him. Did more than Freedman and he's bloody working here again! Edited by premier fan (10 Feb 2018 12.33pm)

Bouncebackability! Who knew.

Forgetting the circumstances of his departure, his poor knowledge of geography and his PowerPoint fixation, Dowie was actually very, very good for us. He took us from the doldrums of the Championship to the playoffs in truly spectacular fashion with the team playing very attractive football. We were also very unlucky to go down the following season after some head-scratching dealings in the transfer market which was probably as much down to Jordan as it was to Dowie. Without doubt, we had his best years. Dowie has maintained a dignified silence about his spat with Jordan (unlike the version we've heard from the Orange One) and although his career amusingly imploded after his departure, I bear him no ill will.

If we signed Dean Ashton in January we would without doubt have stayed up but he wanted to go to Norwich to play actual football rather than rely on the grease lightning of AJ. Norwich were lower than us and went down with us. But he got a bigger move to West Ham so it worked out for him and then the injury.
