Well, I hope this is proof never to bring into discussion whoscored ratings again as they are done very subjectively and unprofessionally

Anyone who watched the match would say PVA was the MOTM.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Mental. I don't think he had a bad game but he didn't have a good one either. Interesting that the Beeb report stated he consistently found teammates with the numerous flick-ons he won!?

He wasn't as useless as some people are making out but hardly MotM. I'd say van Aanholt was, and Hennessey and McArthur were very good too.

Plus Zaha and Cabaye, that makes half the team better than Benteke. Whoscored is unreliable

I would have said Benteke had a better game than Wilf and Yohan.

What were you people watching??? Zaha's second half was awesome. He was dribbling like Ronaldo. He had awesome runs down the left. He had a good curled shot which went close (ok, could have been better, but still).
STOPPED A VERY IMPORTANT COUNTER ATTACK WHICH LOOKED LIKE A SURE GOAL FOR NEWCASTLE!
Basically, run his socks off.

Benteke....missed with an open goal, got a mercy penalty and missed another big chance towards the end. Seemed involved, but didn't do what strikers should do- finish well.

Thought Van Aanholt made some great runs as in the previous game & was making space & anticipating all the time. Cabaye, though he didn't score, played further fwd & was quite dangerous with some good central runs/shots on goal. MOTM? Can't pick one!

Yeah, those 2 goals, his assist for Zaha and his constant runs really saved us the other day

I think you are missing the point of Whoscored it's a stat based rating, if anything the problem lies in them being too objective. A player is awarded rating points for doing something positive and points are taken off for a negative, rather then a overall rating for the impact of their performance. Obviously for commercial reason they aren't going to publish their assumption or methodology but a brief explanation is here [Link]
Beneteke won a ridiculous amount of headers, to put in context he is top of headers in the premier this year with an average of 8.9 per game , he won 17 yesterday and his rating went up every time he won one.

WhoScored strength is in its ability to capture a lot of data on all the things a player does and create a generalised rating , Beneteke heading skewed the results but by the same token Zaha will get high ratings because of the high number of dribbles he does in a match. Sorry I hate the term dribble when it used like that but it's who scored term
Beneteke shouldn't win motm yesterday , but usually whoscored is reasonable for getting a general idea of how a typical player played but sometimes you get odd selection because someone throws their algorithm.

One supporter of hacking argued that without it "you will do away with the courage and pluck of the game, and I will be bound to bring over a lot of Frenchmen who would beat you with a week's practice -Blackheath secretary at first meeting of the F.A
