I’m sure at least one of these could do us a decent job for half a season the maybe a new one year deal , you know after Hennessy and Speroni possibly leave for free in may , nothing wrong with a back up plan

If Speroni and Hennessey were available now, do you think they would be on that list? if the answer is no then that probably tells you all you need to know about the quality of keepers on it. We can wait until the summer for our keeper.

Surely if we have a space in our squad, then we can sign a free agent any time. So if either Speroni or Hennessey are injured then we can get one in as back-up, but if they are not then we can leave the space available in case someone else gets injured elsewhere. There is no need to fill the space for the sake of it. A different position, but I seem remember there was a bloke called Caceres last year, who signed for Southampton in a similar situation. He played one game for them throughout the remainder of the season before going off somewhere else on a free. Seemed like a waste of money. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Checked out a few of them out of curiosity. Looked at that Ross Turnbull fella as his name rang a bell, not sure why though as he seems to have played his whole career as a back up keeper racking up a mere 149 apps in over 15 years of professional playing (6 games at this team, 8 games a that team), his last stint being 2 years at Leeds where he played no games at all. As stated before, theres not going to be anything worth grabbing on a goalkeepers free agent list. Interesting reading mind!

Can’t read through this hefty list but I assume Ross Turnbull is there. English speaks the language knows the league and has been based in london before. Very easy for an emergency cover.
