Given the fact that the winter window will be gone, and the summer window will be much shorter - what do we think the changes in strategy will be in the next window? It seems to me that we will need to be far more strategic with our loans, possibly leaving them late, and we will need to get our ducks in a row well before the start of the window - particularly if we are going to let Hennessey or Speroni go. Most importantly, we will need to keep hold of Hodgson. We can't go through the summer window without stability.

A lot will depend on whether we are still in the Prem or not.

We have a large number of players out of contract so I suppose that quite a bit of our strategy depends on whom we want to keep and if they are willing to sign on again

a new right back to compete with Ward cabaye extension or replacement a new left sided youthful winger to eventually take over from zaha cos it really is a matter of time. another striker another GK but we have one lined up already, but will need two as Speroni will retire im sure

The next window being so testing is why I understand us not spending any of that budget unless the player is considered needed then and too good not to buy (Adamou). Actually next season is unfortunately the most testing in this regard and one we're more likely to come a cropper rather than the last day, last summer shambles. This is how I've accepted only one striker coming in, seeing as they're so expensive to get wrong. For the other thread the keeper situation isn't anywhere near acceptable.

Personally, I hope that Dougie is thinking about it now, because I personally think that it is going to be really important to have a really deep squad of players to get through a whole season - with some youngsters who don't have to fit into the 25 who can do a job. It will require all the commercial nous and strategic planning that we can muster; and test the business acumen of the teams in and around the bottom half of the table, and the wannabees in the top half of the Championship. It will also require us to keep Mr Hodgson and get a bit of stability. It will be interesting times.

There won't be any changes. Didn't Parish say in the summer they had learnt lessons & wouldn't repeat the same mistakes...? Well this transfer window was worse so obviously a load of bulls**t !!
