Not sure if there is a thread about this already but this was my first visit and I can easily say it is the worst stadium I have been to - 1) walk up to the stadium surrounded by their fans (took the Pudding exit on the DLR) and getting the usual abuse. 2) Had to queue up through security with the t***s, one pretending to set fire to my scarf, another thinking she had priority in the queue being a spam. 3) Toilets, half of the space inside which could have been used for urinals is just left empty. Massive queues, despite it being a new stadium. Made the Arthur Wait toilets looks bearable! 4) The 500 steps to get to your seats. 5) Watching the game in a different post code from the players! 6) Trying to use the big screens to help work out what was going on but then realizing it is ten seconds behind play! 7) Away fans split up by a massive gap between lower and upper Half time no alcohol was served to away fans, this despite home fans having it sold to them 9) Having to walk back to the shopping centre the long way 10) The atmosphere or lack of it.

11. The fact that we pay for it, subsidising West Ham.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Yup, strange place. It didn't have the feeling of efficiency that the Emirates has and had even less atmosphere. I kind of felt sorry for the home fans, no matter what they did they couldn't get any real noise or spirit going. And we were little better, I think because the boys making the noise were mostly right at the back and it was so damned far away. The area is definitely on the up though. I should think it would be OK with a rugby game if the whole crowd gets behind the game because the acoustics are there, just not the hubs of singing fans.

It would work well for a concert or as you said rugby, I think the can pull the front part of the stand away in the area the away fans are in. Not for a football match. Imagine going from Selhurst to that, would destroy your soul! I totally forgot we are paying for it too!

After the Olympics saw a Rugby world cup game there and it was obvious that it is not suitable because of the distance between the stands and the pitch. Doesn't surprise me fans are complaining. I don't blame the Spam for getting a good deal but I do object to taxpayers subsiding any Premier League club. I would rather keep it for athletics and pop concerts.

They should rename it the "taxpayer's stadium" in honour of the main sponsors.

I think there's an EU law on this over unfair advantage including sport. There was a petition for the House of Commons to discuss but I think it didn't reach 100,000 signatures. I signed it. The 10,000 HOL members and then BBS members no doubt did not.

Why wear a scarf or any colours to clubs you know this stuff goes on? Just saying. At Wembley there was loads of cigarette smoke in the toilets. Can't remember if it was the play off final or the fa final. It wasn't the fa semi.

Guess you just have to remember that west ham fans are more animal like than others. Dragged up rather than brought up.
