I think Roy has changed how we play now, I do not feel we are a total counter attacking team at all anymore.

If you agree with this, do you prefer our new style? or do you miss the old days of Bolasie and Wilf running down the wings at 100mph after the opposition fluff up a corner?

I would agree that we're trying not to be, however I think with our current players we're most effective on the counter. We just don't have the creativity to try and play

Depends on the opponent, but mainly yes. The only teams which counter attack even when playing Palace are West Brom, Burnley, Bournemouth and Huddersfield. Maybe Leicester too.

You can't really play possession football against top 6 teams or Everton, Southampton or Swansea, sides with this type of football.
But...if the opponent's squad is trimmed with injuries, like West Ham's is right now, you could dominate the game

Nowhere near as exciting to watch as when we had 20% possession a game and would just watch bolasie and zaha bomb down the wing as soon as we got the ball but we're by far a much better football team and we do play decent football. Think we could be a bit more direct tho far to often we do the old arsenal trick of knocking it around the box from one side to the other. Tonight's goal showed exactly where our strengths lay.

Good post. We had so much possession in their half in the second half but lacked any penetration.
We were dynamite till Sako got done.

I thinknSwansea had 20% possession and scored 3 against the Arse!

Yep. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Moyes’ tactics for tonight’s game included letting us have the ball & putting 10 men behind it. We struggle to open up sides like that, especially with RLC missing.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!
