Just seen a snippet on the news. Seems maybe like a man of contradictions. Lived a humble life in a very modest house and surroundings and with the appearance of a starving fisherman, makes Richard Branson's clothing look luxurious. I think it said Mr IKEA didn't believe in a wasteful culture or something like that yet created the IKEA stuff but didn't enjoy the profits. Maybe the stuff he was in control of originally before the company really took off was longer lasting. Edit: BBC webpage says he led a frugal life and a lot of the products were made from recycled products. But imo he made throwaway furniture which wasn't necessarily recycled but drove the same Volvo for decades and it seems wore the same jumper too. Edited by Rudi Hedman (28 Jan 2018 7.22pm)
