i saw a SLP tweet earlier saying we were in for him.

i would take this signing with open arms...almost notransfer fee due to age, experienced PL player who knows how to score goals.

its a yes please from me...

Yes, but when do you play him. The squad has proved that eleven players can go for ninety minutes without replacement - meaning that substitutes are not needed, provided no injuries. Is ringing the changes in peoples' thoughts. Start with Crouch and Sako up front supported by Zaha and Townsend. Double substitute after an Arsenal style start with Benteke and Lokilo coming on for whichever players Roy selects? This would cause opposition thought, and Palace player completion, especially if Christian gets one, two, or three goals - as a (non-bored? fresh player.

Yeah, me too, but just can't see Stoke letting him leave, they know how useful he is coming off the bench

Agree why would Stoke let him go and if they did teams would be queuing up for him. Still a good player.

Following Palace since 25 Feb 1978

Then why do you think Stoke would agree to let him go?
Why would he change clubs? He's getting enough playing time for a 37 year old there.
They have a good striker in Choupo Moting and are using Crouch in the last 15-25 minutes of a game.

Palace has a bad striker in Benteke. It needs a replacement for the full 90 minutes, not just the last half an hour
