Well I suppose none of us should really be surprised that most of our business, the important business is going to get done on the last day/evening. It really does beg the question whether the 'window' should be reduced to a week or 2 weeks maybe. The thing that concerns me about leaving everything to the last day is we really have to have plan B, C and D all in place as inevitably deals will fall through. I know there are plenty of people who are of the opinion we will be ok but we are one injury to Zaha and dare I say it Benteke to disaster, if we do not get a another striker that is! I know Dougie is in place now and he really needs to earn his corn. Another farcical window and we are in big trouble. Are we confident that Palace can get done what we need?

I can't believe that we are going for another last minute farce, why the heck didn't this get sorted at the start. Number one get in a forward, what are you going to save know, up against a closing window, we will end up with another top dollar CLOWN!!!

I vote scrap the window altogether. When you need a player you buy a player. But of course, the media would have nothing to grab a hold of - and it’s all about them of course. Tssk. No idea how a striker wasn’t bought in the summer let alone by this point in the window. We haven’t suddenly needed one / Benteke has been isolated since August.

I imagine that the way the fixtures have been so spread out and us having started the month with three points meant that they weren’t in a rush to get additional personnel in. Arsenal being the perceived free swing that it turned out to be and all. West Ham will be the day before deadline day and we should have enough to get something from them as we are. This could be a reason that they’ve decided to hold out until deadline day now as they try to go for the better deals.

Am I worried? No. Would more signings be nice? Yes. Do I think the club are doing what they can? Yes. It's obvious the club know where they want to improve and I think most of us agree with them. Keeper and Striker seem the main targets we need to get and looks like we have got Guiata and I fully see the sense in us maybe choosing not spending 7-8 mill Euros to get him 14 matches before we get him for nothing. Likewise the striker market is the hardest one to work in and as we have seen with the likes of Eder it can be a domino effect and you can only do so much until it ultimately comes down to if the player wants it. I am pleased we have bought in players like Rakip and Jach, the sort of signings I actually thought FdB would do. Players who bolster our squad.

Clubs would just be peppering us and him with offers. The window does much more good for a club like us than it does harm.

Thought Freedman would have sorted players as that's why he's back. It's not like we've needed a striker since before the season even started is it..... Probably won't even sign one.

One can just imagine the furore on HOL if we don't manage to bring in a striker. Given our injury situation and our sole strike force I am really concerned that IF we don't recruit some more players we will be in real danger of the drop.On HOL I am accused of being very negative and a glass 'Half empty' person but all I am doing is trying to be realistic.

Half of the PL are in danger, including us. Luckily our manager recognises this. I'm not expecting much from this window. We can't offer a starting place to a striker unless we either sell Benteke ( highly unlikely ) or Roy decides to change tactically. So in theory anyone who comes in has to accept that they are going to be a regular sub and no more. So the real talent is unlikely to come and we have to accept the likes of Ulloa ( should we sign him ) who is at least better than nothing.
